Cyan is pleased to announce the release of The Manhole: Masterpiece Edition for iOS (iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.)

The Manhole is a silly, delightful, interactive, busy-box-of-a-world that kids can explore and explore - finding something new around every corner. The Manhole was the first product ever released by Cyan back in the early 80s. This masterpiece edition was remade in the 90s.

This award-winning romp transports children to the fanciful world around, above, and beneath what appears to be just an average, everyday, manhole. But there is much more than meets the eye - have tea with a rabbit, wake up a walrus, nibble biscuits with a dragon, hang with a penguin, boat with an elephant, speak French with a turtle, and much more!

After all the late nights and weekends that they’ve put into the grassroots movement to bring Myst to the big screen, Patrick and Adrian, founders of the the Mysteria Film Group (MFG), are ready to pitch officially. MFG has acquired the option to Myst: The Book of Ti’ana from Cyan. What that means is that Cyan has entrusted the keys to the movie to MFG, so they can take the material they’ve created and the connections that they’ve made and officially pitch it, shop it, sell it, and shoot it.

Every grassroots movement anticipates the moment when the roots are strong enough to push a shoot through the earth. This is that moment! Now with a bit of water, sunshine, and a great big John Deere 458, 4895, and 896 we may get to make hay!

For those of you who have already purchased and commented - a hearty “thanks” for all the support and patience. The conversion took a bit longer than expected, but we were determined to build a definitive mobile Myst application. From your comments so far, you seem to agree.

Myst for the iPhone & iPod touch is nearing completion. Everyone involved in the development and testing agrees that it’s a magical feeling to have the highest-quality, original version of Myst in the palm of your hand. Cyan Worlds announced that work has begun on a version of Myst for the iPhone/iPod touch. The iPhone/iPod touch platform represents a perfect mobile platform to allow explorers to bring the full Myst experience along with them. Cyan is working with their old friends - Japanese company Sun. Cyan has chosen to produce this version of Myst themselves - digging into the vault to make use of the best possible assets to provide the best portable Myst experience.
